Fabulous Georgian yellow metal brooch with oval amethyst coloured purple paste cabochon, bezel set with an open back to let the light penetrate. The brooch is framed with seed pearls and on the surface of the paste stone is a tulip shaped floral yellow metal and pearl embellishment.

I have not tested the gold tone yellow metal, but think it is likely to be 15ct gold, as was often used, given the age and quality of this delightful little pin. The brooch is really petite and the colour of the stone is stunning. It fastens with a simple C hook clasp and pin. The brooch is in very good vintage condition, with a tiny bend in the pin as pictured.
